Coach Stores: What to Expect at Landmark Flagships and Boutiques

According to Tapestry’s annual report, Coach had 973 directly operated stores as its 2026 fiscal year drew to a close on 27 June 2026. Broken down, that is 336 stores in North America and 637 in international markets. A separate figure doing the rounds, about 1,299 stores, relates to all of Tapestry’s brands combined, not to Coach alone. Looking forward, Tapestry has reportedly indicated that around 50 net new Coach stores are pencilled in for fiscal 2027, with roughly three quarters of them sited beyond North America. Flagship Coach House locations, standard full-price boutiques, concessions inside department stores and Coach Outlet stores together make up the network. As a result, a search for a coach store could return anything from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. Taking it city by city, this guide covers the best-recorded locations and flags each place where a store’s current status still needs checking.

New York: Coach House on Fifth Avenue

Coach was founded in New York in 1941, and its home city is home to its most recognised flagship. Opened in the fall of 2016, the Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue was timed for the brand’s 75th anniversary. Developed with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield, the store was reported to cover about 20,000 square feet across three floors. That address is not a permanent home, however, because Coach has reportedly taken a lease on about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House. The planned move is targeted for 2027, and David Yurman is reported to have leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space, with an opening expected in early 2029. Whether the current store is still trading on a given day has not been confirmed, so consult Coach’s store locator before making a special trip. Also on the locator is a coach clothes Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards, close to Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.

London: Coach House on Regent Street

Unveiled in 2016 as a global concept store, London’s Coach House sits at 200–206 Regent Street. Studio Sofield also worked on the London store, giving it a family resemblance to the New York flagship. Reports from the time mentioned a Craftsmanship Bar for monogramming and personalisation. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly need around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks for exotic skins, and a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag was also reported. One retail-district listing carries a much later page date, which has led some writers to quote the wrong opening year. Tapestry said on its August 2026 earnings call, according to a published transcript, that the UK, plus some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has a material presence. Anyone planning a personalisation appointment should confirm which services are currently offered before visiting.

Tokyo: The Ginza Flagship

Tokyo’s Ginza district holds Coach’s flagship in Japan. The store, renewed in 2015, traces its origins to the first Japanese flagship, which opened there in 2002. Coverage of the relaunch says that the studio CURIOSITY redesigned the store, which reopened on 19 December 2025. Japan also matters for services, because select Japanese stores reportedly join the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange. Outlet items and canvas styles are reportedly ruled out, whereas the scheme welcomes gently worn all-leather retail bags. As it was not confirmed which Japanese stores take part, contact the store before bringing a bag along. Opening hours and services should be checked shortly before a visit, as is true of every flagship in this guide.

Hong Kong, Chongqing and an Old Shanghai Record in Greater China

Compared with New York or London, Coach’s large stores in Greater China are less well documented. A flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010, according to a record that is now dated. Avoid assuming the Shanghai store is open today, as its current status could not be verified. A global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing are also reported to be run by Coach. Dates of opening for those two stores were not verified either. International stores account for 637 of Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, but the annual report figure is not a city-by-city list. Older press coverage is no substitute for Coach’s local store locator, so visitors should rely on the locator when planning a visit.

British Boutiques and Concessions

Beyond Regent Street, Coach’s UK store locator includes full-price stores at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf are further London options. The Bullring in Birmingham is home to the documented full-price store away from the capital. Shoppers can also find Coach in concessions at Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. Stores in Manchester, Edinburgh and other cities went unconfirmed, so confirm before taking it for granted that a local branch exists. This list covers the documented full-price options at the time of writing for anyone searching coach uk locations. The UK version of Coach’s website offers each listed store its own page, and that is the safest place to confirm hours and services.

Shopping at Coach Outlet Stores

Coach Outlet stores are part of Coach’s own network, not independent discounters, and Coach labels them as outlets in its store locator. They usually are found in outlet centres, and Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common in the United States. Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet are confirmed Coach Outlet locations in Great Britain. A store at York Designer Outlet has been reported but not confirmed, so check before travelling there. A share of the stock in outlet stores is made for the outlet channel, yet today’s mix is unknown, since the only share figure found, around 85%, dates from 2014. Under the reported “One Coach” strategy, the assortments also take in some full-price collection product, as well as earlier-season styles. Before a coach outlet trip, check current offers first: promotions change, and coupon-site sale calendars could not be confirmed.

Inside a Coach Store: What to Expect

A full-price coach store concentrates on the current handbag range, with space too for small leather goods, clothing and shoes. Among the recognisable bag families in 2026 are the Tabby (introduced in 2019), the Brooklyn (introduced in August 2024) and the Empire Carryall (brought out in February 2025). In the US, a Tabby 26 was seen at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450, though neither figure comes from an official price list. Customers can access the (Re)Loved trade-in at North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores, so check whether your store takes part. Reportedly, Coach Insider, a free loyalty programme, covers both Coach and Coach Outlet, which means one membership applies to both formats. Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise, which makes a receipt from a Coach store useful proof of where a coach bag came from. In charge of creative direction is Stuart Vevers, who remains Creative Director in 2026; his appointment was announced in June 2013.

How to Plan a Visit

A little preparation saves wasted journeys, especially while the New York flagship gets ready for its planned move. The best first step is Coach’s store locator for the country you are visiting, as it keeps full-price stores apart from Coach Outlet locations. If you plan a trade-in, confirm that the specific store participates and that your bag is all leather rather than canvas. For personalisation or made-to-order services, check beforehand whether the service is running. Visitors to Britain should bear in mind that tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended on 1 January 2021, so there is no VAT refund to count on. Hold on to every receipt, because it documents where a bag was bought if questions crop up later. Offers change often, so review current promotions before a long trip to an outlet centre.

  • On the day you set out, open the store locator.
  • Check both participation and eligibility for a trade-in.
  • Book personalisation services in advance.
  • Keep a receipt for everything you buy.
